What is a Level 1 Cor?
Level 1 COR skills are generally appropriate for low-risk contract vehicles, such as supply contracts and orders. Accordingly, this course covers general roles and responsibilities of the COR and CO throughout the acquisition process.

This level of core is generally appropriate for contract vehicles of moderate to high complexity and risk, including both supply and service contracts. The general requirements are: Complete FCR 201 Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) Level 2 (instructor led courses may have a cost associated with them );
How long does it take to become a cor?
The candidate must complete 40 hours of basic COR training not more than two years prior to an initial appointment as a COR. Although classroom training is preferred, on-line training through the Defense Acquisition University (DAU) is acceptable. The training must be comprehensive, COR-specific training.
