What are NHS services?
Service is generally considered to be those actions taken by the student which are done with or on behalf of others without any direct financial or material compensation to the individual performing the service.
Why should I be selected for NHS?
Being a member of the National Honor Society shows that you are among the best students in your class, not just in terms of academics but also in terms of leadership, service, and character. It shows a commitment to community service projects and provides you the opportunity to network with like-minded peers.
How can you contribute to NHS?
Volunteer on behalf of the organization. Help organize a community service project for a local organization, like Habitat for Humanity or a local animal shelter. Volunteer work upholds the organization’s commitment to service and unites members in social activity for a good cause.
Can you join NHS as a senior?
No, NHS at the high school level is reserved for Juniors and Seniors ONLY. If eligible, students will be notified in the fall of Junior year and/or fall of Senior year and invited to apply. After the application is completed and reviewed, students will be notified of acceptance/non-acceptance into NHS.
